James Stone

Captain James Stone is the owner and operator of Elite Sportsmen, a hunting and fishing guide service located in Northern California. He grew up in the bay area and began fishing seriously as a teenager. After fishing in primarily competitive bass tournaments in the late 90’s, James branched out in search of other species. A graduate of Sacramento State University, Captain James followed his calling when he started his business in 2009.

Having spent a significant part of his life hunting and fishing, he decided to share his passion and provide amazing hunting and fishing experiences to others. Guiding trips from the Sacramento and Yuba Rivers to Lake Oroville, Collins Lake and more, his goal is to bring elite experiences to outdoorsmen. Waterfowl hunting and trips for striper, salmon, sturgeon, trout, kokanee and bass are his specialties. Captain James is a licensed USCG operator, a radio show host and maintains an informative website that highlights photos of guided trips he has taken and features daily hunting and fishing reports.
