Jimmy Johnson is a football icon, Emmy-winning commentator, and fishing enthusiast. Born in Port Arthur, Texas, Jimmy's love of both football and appreciation for the great outdoors were instilled in him at a very early age. These guiding principles helped to shape and continues to influence his incredible career.
Jimmy is the first person in football history to win a national collegiate title as a player, serve as head coach to a NCAA championship team, and lead an NFL team to two Super Bowl victories. As a defensive lineman at the University of Arkansas, Jimmy led his team to a championship in 1968 and went on to coach in the NCAA at various universities. His college coaching career culminated at the University of Miami where he won a national championship in 1987. He then went on to coach in the NFL where he led the Dallas Cowboys to consecutive Super Bowls victories in 1992 and 1993. He also served as head coach to the Miami Dolphins from 1996 to 1999. His unparalleled skills as a coach awarded him numerous victories and a legion of followers. After retiring from Coaching in the NFL, Johnson joined FOX's NFL SUNDAY team where he continued his winning ways with sixteen Emmy Awards, including four for Best Studio Show.
Now, Coach Johnson resides in Islamorada, Florida and goes fishing on a weekly basis aboard one of his two Sea Vee fishing machines called the "Three Rings." Fishing offshore, Jimmy's skills and techniques have allowed him to single-handedly reel in multiple blue marlins. He is also credited with multiple species catches. Given his passion for fishing and demand for perfection, Jimmy will be an asset to the Cuda team in their quest to build the best tools possible.
