Sam Papia

Sammy Papia was born in Tampa, Florida in 1974. He is a 3rd generation fisherman, whose love and passion for the ocean runs deep. By the age of 5, he was going on overnight trips with his grandfather and father off of the Florida Keys commercial fishing for grouper and snapper. As a kid, summers were spent on the west coast of Florida fishing the beaches and intercoastal waterways. By the age of 12, he was running his first skiff, fishing all throughout Tampa Bay. It was during college at UCF that Sammy discovered fishing east coast of Florida. He began fishing the Mosiqitio Lagoon and Indian River Lagoon and eventually made his way offshore.

In 2007, Bada Bing Fishing Team was formed and began competing in different offshore saltwater tournaments. Bada Bing Fishing Team is a professional saltwater tournament team comprised of his brother, two nephews, and longtime friend. Today, Bada Bing Fishing Team is regarded as one of the top fishing teams in Florida competing in more than 12 tournaments a year throughout the southeast.
